Buc-ee’s Hillsboro location holds grand opening ceremony
HILLSBORO, Texas (KWTX) – The Central Texas community and visitors from across the state were excited to see the opening of the Buc-ee’s Hillsboro location.
Karen Pierce from Burleson, Texas and her close friends were on a road trip to Crystal Beach and decided to stop at every single Buc-ee’s on the way.
“We came here, especially, since its grand opening,” Pierce said. “We love Buc-ee’s. Oh yes, we love Buc-ee’s.”
Th Hillsboro location is now the largest gas station in Texas with 13 acres of concrete, 120 gas pumps and 74,000 square feet inside.
Director of Operations Josh Smith says this location will help Hillsboro’s residents.
“We have 250 full time jobs that make an extremely good amount of money, and that money gets turned right back into the local economy therefore benefitting everything here in Hillsboro and surrounding areas,” Smith said.
The founder of Buc-ee’s, Arch “Beaver” Aplin III, was at the opening ceremony to thank staff and visitors and teased new locations coming soon across the country.
“As a matter of fact Mississippi is under construction and Louisianna is coming soon, so we’ll get there,” Aplin said.
The parking lots and gas pumps were full, and the store was crowded but that didn’t stop visitors from getting what they came for.
