Organizations come together to highlight child abuse prevention month

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Families and community members spent their evening at the annual spring bash event at First Methodist church Bryan Thursday.

During the event, attendees learned about organizations that support our youth all in one location.

“April is child abuse prevention month so we all came here as a collective unit to create a safe space for families to learn about resources,” said Hope supervisor for Project Unity, Lised Roe.

There were free snow cones for the kids and families and a number of resource booths handing out information.

”This gives us a great opportunity to have all of the resources available in one place so families can knock them out at once and see what’s available to them.” said case manager for Unlimited Potential, Sarah Warwick.

Organizers say to get more information on all of the groups you can contact 211.
