Man arrested, accused of trying to stab another man at city park in Bryan

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – A College Station man is in custody, accused of swinging a knife at another man at Tiffany Park on Copperfield Drive in Bryan.

According to police Guy Lawrence, 37, was armed with a knife and chased a man down at the park Tuesday around 5:30 a.m.

The victim told police he was at the park for his morning workout with a group of people when confronted by Lawrence.

Eyewitnesses say Lawrence approached the man’s car and yelled “Where is my girl? You know what’s up”.

After the man got out and denied the allegations, Lawrence reportedly got upset and began trying to stab him with the knife.

“You’re going to die today,” Lawrence reportedly yelled while attempting to stab the victim, according to the police report.

Bryan police arrived and arrested Lawrence at the park.

It was found that Lawrence did not know the man he allegedly attempted to stab and admitted to the police “It was a bad choice”.

Guy Lawrence is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on a $30,000 bond.
