A College Station man is in jail on charges of injuring an 11-year-old child, according to arrest records.
A probable cause affidavit says CPS workers notified College Station police about a possible case of child abuse involving Donta Waddell, 36, and a forensic interview with the 11-year-old alleged victim was conducted on April 4 at Scotty’s House.
In the interview, the child said Waddell beat her with a belt at his home as a discipline for her “acting out.” The child was reportedly struck with the belt multiple times on the legs and buttocks. She said she was also hit in her private area with the belt which caused her to urinate on herself during the assault. During the incident, the child said Waddell used vulgar language and said “he did not care what happened to her.”
The victim said after the alleged beating ended, her legs were swollen and bleeding, and she was unable to sit down or sleep without pain for several days.
Police noted there was documentation of the child’s injuries, which included strike marks on her legs, buttocks, and lower back and there were open wounds on the legs.
Waddell, who has a criminal history of violent offenses including continuous family violence, was arrested and charged with injury to a child, said police.
His bond on the charge is $40,000.
