Interior designer shares ways to refresh home for spring

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Spring can be a great time to refresh your home.

Whether you want to add color or change things around, it doesn’t have to take much.

That’s why Nikki Fort, the owner of Adele Interiors, joined BVTM to share some tips.

She said the 2024 trend is decluttered spaces with earth tones.

“We are seeing very neutral pallets, very minimalistic, clean lines,” Fort said. “With furniture, we’re seeing curves, very modern.”

You can see examples of this below.

Kitchen

Fort sticks with a neutral pallet with décor matching her countertops. For a pop of color, she recommends using darker-colored pieces like brown baskets to bring more warmth to the space.

Dining Room

This is another area that can be cluttered with tablescapes and place settings.

The interior designer suggests removing those things and using bowls and greenery to decorate the space.

More color can be added with wall paintings and faux trees.

Living Room

Pillows and blankets are an easy way to add color to the living room, according to Fort.

You can shop your home for those pieces or buy them inexpensively on Amazon.

In addition, coffee table décor can elevate the space.

Fort uses things like books, candles and plants to amplify hers.

Couch table

A couch table is a simple way to separate the gap between living rooms and kitchens.

It can be styled similarly to the coffee table with books, greenery and bowls.
