Join the John’s Boys Jurassic Jam

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Get ready for a roaring good time.

John’s Boys is having a fundraiser event later this year, the Jurassic Jam, and Skylar Brown, the Owner of John’s Boys and Chairman of the Board, and Rachel Earnest, a Senior Board Member joined First News at Four on Tuesday to discuss the event.

Brown said the event is to continue the hard work the pair and all those involved in John’s Boys have been doing for years now.

“We started five years ago this year, with a snarky Facebook post that turned into a non-profit that has been helping kids in the Brazos Valley,” she said.

They are focused on supporting children in foster care and create go-bags to help bring comfort and security to those who need it most.

So far, they have made over 950 go-bags since they began their journey.

The Jurassic Jam is not only a fundraiser to continue this work, but is also a birthday bash.

“We will be having things along the lines of a DJ there that will provide music and dancing for everyone, and that’ll be Absolute CS Music Locked and Loaded. We’ll also have All Heart Photography there, they’ll be doing a photobooth. And, we will also have Big Daddy’s Tattoo, who will be doing a little temporary tattoo thing,” said Earnest.

There are sponsorship opportunities still available to support the event that you can find out more about here.

The event is on Oct. 19 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Castlegate II Event Center.
