Legends Event Center hosts first Easter Market

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -Legends Event Center hosted its first Easter Market on Saturday.

The event included 40 local vendors and people could shop for anything from clothes, crafts, jewelry, and food.

Summer Barfield, the Events Manager at Legends Event Center, said it took around four months to plan the easter market.

“There was a need for other events as well so whenever we are not hosting a large tournament here, how else can we help the community? We went to go find some vendor markets and investigate what their needs were and a lot of them said that they wanted to have an indoor place and so luckily we can provide that for them,” said Barfield.

KBTX spoke with Sydney Verbal, the owner of Grace & Giving which is a new marketplace ministry in town.

Verbal started her marketplace ministry about two months ago and sells items such as embroidered apparel and accessories.

At the Easter Market, she had around 40 people look at her pop-up halfway through the event.

She says events like these have helped her business as a whole.

”Just meeting everyone around here, getting my name out there, being able to share what we’re about with people, and then also being able to say hi to everybody. It’s so fun to see everyone, meet local businesses that I can serve, and it’s cool to be able to get in front of people and meet them,” said Verbal.

Verbal says showcasing her products right before Easter allowed more people to shop at her ministry and helped her get the word out.

Legends Event Center told KBTX the goal is to provide a space for and cater to local vendors in the Bryan/College Station area.

“A lot of vendors are looking for more of a local spot so they don’t have to go travel and stay in hotels. So we’re able to provide that spot for them here in Bryan so we can cater towards the Bryan/College Station area,” said Verbal.
