TDCJ arrests visitors for attempting to give drugs to Huntsville inmate
HUNTSVILLE, Texas (KBTX) – TDCJ arrested two women earlier this month, for attempting to bring drugs to an inmate in Huntsville.
Kimberly Proctor and Jessica Herron were arrested while visiting the Ellis unit on March 16.
According to TDCJ, Herron was seen on video surveillance passing something to an inmate during visitation. Officers then searched the inmate and discovered several pieces of cellophane containing a clear crystallized substance. Testing revealed it was 31.2 grams of methamphetamines.
Officers then searched Proctor’s car, which the two had traveled in, and found an additional 0.79 ounces of methamphetamines along with a smoking pipe and scale.
The investigation is ongoing.
