First Responder Salute: College Station officer receives Outstanding Service Award
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – College Station Police Officer David Simmons was recently granted the Outstanding Service Award for an act of bravery that happened back in 2022.
While working an off-duty shift in the Northgate area, a fight broke out in front of him and another officer.
Officer Simmons was exposed to pepper spray as the other officer attempted to diffuse the fight. Simmons then held down one of the men involved, who then pulled out a gun and aimed it at the back of the other officer. Simmons was able get the weapon away from the suspect and contact other officers for assistance.
