Urgent Animals of Hearne hosting 8th Annual Find Somebunny to Love
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Urgent Animals of Hearne wants to help you find “somebunny” to love.
That’s the name of its 8th annual Easter event happening Saturday at The Ranch Harley-Davidson in College Station.
The event serves as a fundraiser to assist with the organization’s vet fund.
“We need between $8,000 and $12,000 a month between all of the preventions and surgeries,” volunteer Cindy Craigen said. “Right now, we have five litters of puppies that all need full vet care, to be spayed, neutered and all that before they go to their new home.”
In addition, the fund helps the organization provide essentials to those fostering dogs from them.
“That includes flea and tick prevention and heartworm prevention,” Craigen said. “All of our dogs are on heartworm prevention, so that can get pretty expensive over the course of time.”
Attendees won’t be able to take dogs home Saturday, but they can start the process of fostering or adopting.
Some of the dogs who need forever homes are below.
Frank
Frank is 3 years old and is named after Frank Sinatra because of his one blue eye.
Frank loves people and is good around puppies.
Craigen said he’s also good in the house and does well with cats.
Sydney
Sydney is a 7-month-old Pitbull mix.
Craigen said she’s really sweet and is good with people, kids and cats.
She knows how to sit and is crate-trained.
Sydney is also working on being house trained.
Scooter
Scooter is a 1-year-old house dog.
He’d be great with a family who has a yard and is ready to give him a lot of love, according to Craigen.
Hilda
Hilda is a 4-year-old German shepherd.
Craigen said she’s house-trained and is looking for a forever home that loves German shepherds and understands the breed.
She’s also great in a crate and on a leash.
The event will also include a silent auction, vendors, DJ PFunk, the Daisey Dukes Food Truck, the Platinum Ink Tattoo Studio and door prizes.
