Former College Station mayor Ben White laid to rest
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Former College Station mayor Ben White was laid to rest Friday.
His funeral procession could be seen heading down Texas Avenue and past the College Station City Hall, coming to an end at the Aggie Field of Honor.
White served on the city council and as mayor, and continued to remain active in the community until his death.
John Nichols, the current mayor of College Station, said White was a strong leader and mentor.
”I think the vision that he had and the positive attitude he always presented publicly and personally, one-on-one, left an imprint on many of us,” he said.
White also served as a volunteer with the College Station Fire Department, among other community organizations.
