Get your steps in and help local kittens

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – There’s still time to sign up for a fundraiser this month that benefits local cats and kittens.

Hosted by Six Kitten Rescue, the Catwalk is a fundraising challenge for the community. The goal is to get 200,000 steps during the month of March. This would be an average of about 6,400 steps a day, but participants can split up the goal however they like.

“Ultimately it is a fundraiser for cats, but we value community and it’s a great way to network with fellow cat lovers,” said Six Kittens Co-Founder Mallori Girard. “If we want to set up group walks, we can set up group walks. Maybe get your cats in a stroller. Dogs can come.”

It costs $10 to sign up. The money goes toward the 34 felines in their care right now, including one pregnant mother. According to Girard, they spend about $250 on each kitten who goes through their program.
