Traffic light construction begins at University Drive, Veterans Park entrance
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Construction on a new traffic light along University Drive is underway. The light is going up at the intersection with Veterans Park.
The city approved the new light last summer. Other improvements include a new pedestrian crossing across University Drive.
The entrance to Veterans Park will shift.
At this time, drivers are not able to turn left out of Veterans Park and TXB.
TXDOT and the Cities of College Station and Bryan are collaborating on the project, with each contributing financially.
“It will improve safety at the intersection with the increasing volumes of traffic coming from Veterans Memorial Parkway,” TxDOT told KBTX at the end of last year. “You know they have a lot of events out there so we are just trying to improve those intersections around there.”
Construction is expected to be complete around May.
