Meet the Candidate: Trey Holleway

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The 2024 Primary Election is coming up next month. KBTX is speaking with the candidates vying for votes.

Trey Holleway joined First News at Four on Friday to discuss his candidacy for Washington County Sheriff.

Holleway said growing up in Washington County, and seeing how great the community is, made him want to run.

“I want to preserve that quality of life for future generations by making Washington County safe. Washington County is, of course, the birthplace of Texas and I think that with my leadership and my skills and my abilities, we can make Washington County the birthplace of a great future,” he said.

Holleway also said if he’s elected he wants to make the position more collaborative with the community.

“One of the things that I think is very important is community involvement. And with that I mean being more available to the community, and engaging and listening and coming up with solutions to problems together,” he said.

Holleway finished by saying his campaign is active online, and he has events coming up soon.

“I have what’s called meet and greets coming up. I have three of them right now and they are all scheduled out on our campaign website at treyholleway.com where you can go to learn more about me, and my vision for Washington County moving forward,” he said.
