Dinner mystery play fundraiser planned to benefit The Nest

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Nest is a nonprofit service that helps former addicts get into treatment and recovery.

“We work with the judicial system, defense attorneys, we advocate for them in court and we follow them through the treatment process,” The Nest Director Joann Willis said.

Following just one person on their journey to recovery costs thousands of dollars so The Nest is presenting a dinner mystery theater night on Feb. 17 to help fundraise to further their mission.

Tickets can be purchased for $40 on their website by Feb. 12.

A ticket includes a baked potato bar, complete with brisket, drinks, appetizers and desserts as well as the performance of the play “Dying for Chocolate.”

“The play is surrounded by our main character, Coco Caramel,” the play’s director Joseph Champlin explained. “She owns a chocolate factory and there is a secret in the chocolate and everybody wants it.”

Champlin said audience participation is encouraged and expected.

The event begins at 6 p.m. at Aldersgate Church, located at 2201 Earl Rudder Fwy.
