Create the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the foodie in your life
BRENHAM, Texas (KBTX) – With Valentine’s Day coming up next week, it’s time to find the perfect gift that says I love you.
Downtown Brenham’s Charcuterie Shop recently opened and offers a variety of ideas, especially for the foodie in your life.
The shop is located at 116 South Park Street and has a variety of food options, gift,s and unique finds.
“We have tons of unique items that you’re not going to find anywhere else,” owner Cheri Janner said.
Ideas from Janner and her team can be found below.
Elevate Dinner with a Simmer Pot
Simmer pots are made with dehydrated fruits, herbs and spices.
For example, you can use dehydrated grapefruit, lavender, eucalyptus, vanilla bean, rose petals and peppercorn.
Those items can be poured into a pot and can simmer for hours, according to team member La Nae Berg.
Berg said this is an easy way to make your home smell cozy for a Valentine’s Day dinner.
The simmer pots can also be reused two to three times. Berg recommends draining it and putting it back in its original bag or jar.
Build a Picnic
An outdoor or indoor picnic can be a meaningful Valentine’s Day moment.
If you would like to create your own picnic experience Janner suggests items like French baguettes, pasta, charcuterie boxes, dips like pimento cheese and whipped feta and chocolate.
Create a Basket
If you can’t decide on one gift, a basket can be the way to go.
The Charcuterie Shop has several items to create a delicious basket including loose-leaf tea, sugar cubes, cherries soaked in liquor and crackers that have edible flowers inside.
Baskets can also be made by Charcuterie Shop team members.
