Texas A&M University System schools launch free mental health app

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Students in Texas A&M University System schools now have access to a free mental health care app.

TELLUS Health Student Support gives students 24/7 access to help and through the app, students can talk or text with a counselor about what they are dealing with.

They are also able to schedule repeat sessions, all for free, which is something officials say will help them focus more on their lives.

“We know that part of what prevents a student from being successful moving on to graduation and doing so in a timely manner, is those kinds of stressors that pop up in life,” said James Hallmark, Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs.

To make sure the app can be used by all students it is available in multiple languages including Spanish, French, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

“We think this is a wise investment to spend this kind of money to support students to help them be successful,” added Hallmark.
