Meet the Candidate: Bentley Nettles- Brazos County Commissioner, Pct. 1
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – We are less than a month away from the start of early voting.
One race some Brazos County voters will see on their ballot is the Precinct 1 Commissioners seat.
Three candidates are vying for the Republican nomination: Steve Aldrich (Incumbent), Karl Mooney and Bentley Nettles.
In Precinct 3, Nancy Berry (Incumbent) and Fred Brown are vying for the Republican nomination.
All the candidates will appear on News 3 at Six this week.
Bentley Nettles joined News 3 at Six on Wednesday to discuss why he believes he should take the seat.
“We are the 25th most populous county now out of 254,” Nettles said. “I really want the other counties looking at Brazos County saying why can’t we be like that? Why can’t we provide customer service like that to our residents?”
Nettles is a decorated war veteran and served as the Executive Director of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. He says he hopes to be elected to continue his mission of public service.
“For me, for 32 years, Americans in Texas trusted me with their most valuable heirloom, their sons and daughters,” he said. “I know that the voters of Precinct 1 can trust me to show up and do the right thing for them and their families.”
