Focus at Four: How to keep animals warm during freezing weather
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Despite some warmer weather over the next few days, you are urged to prepare for significantly colder weather in the upcoming week.
That includes ensuring both indoor and outdoor animals are safe.
Aggieland Humane Society’s Executive Director, Katrina Ross, joined First News at Four to discuss not only how to keep animals warm, but what to do if you see an animal neglected.
“If a pet is shaking so much, and then they kind of stop shaking, if they’re just curled up just so. Again really the things to look out for. They have no access to shelter, if there is nothing, no dog house, there’s not a lean-to. If there’s nothing for them to get away from those elements, then that;s a sign that, ok, I really should call,” said Ross.
The best thing you can do in situations like this, she says, is contact your local authorities through the non-emergency line immediately.
