DPS: Motorcyclist killed after striking pickup truck near Iola
IOLA, Texas (KBTX) – The following news release was shared by the Department of Public Safety:
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash on FM 39 near Iola.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that on Jan. 5, 2024, at approximately 6:04 p.m., a 2018 Dodge pickup was traveling northbound, turning into a private drive. A 2024 RPS Hawk motorcycle was traveling southbound, for an unknown reason left the roadway and struck the Dodge in the private driveway.
The driver of the RPS Hawk, Vincent Williams, 56, of Waller, was transported to Baylor Scott and White – College Station, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Brazos County Justice of the Peace Rick Hill.
The driver of the Dodge was not injured.
This is an ongoing investigation, and there is no additional information available for release at this time.
