6 becomes 1: Robertson County voters choose Republican candidate for sheriff
ROBERTSON COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) – Robertson County voters chose their Republican candidate for sheriff in Tuesday’s runoff election.
What started out as six candidates vying for the party’s ticket in the March Primary election has now been widdled down to the top pick in Tuesday’s runoff election.
Karen Box, a 22-year veteran at the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, received 45% of the vote, but Bill Ruland came out on top with 54% of the vote.
Bill Ruland: 1,187 votesKaren Box: 977 votes
Ruland has 32 years of law enforcement experience and started his career in Houston. During his campaign, Ruland focused on training and retaining staff while also expanding the budget.
